Although miniature sights on handguns is not new, technology has advanced to provide reliable optics for pistols and is increasing in popularity among shooters. The advantages to the pistol mounted optic are undeniable and have gained the attention of Law Enforcement Officers across the nation. This two day course of instruction will assist officers/instructors provide an efficient and in-depth methodology for the implementation, transitioning and training of officers to the red dot handgun.

Hosted by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office and class will be held at the Tama County Range – LE ONLY

How to teach, and what to look for in your students while conducting transition training
RDS Specific malfunctions and much more.

Course Requirements

1000 rounds of practice ammunition – 50 rounds of duty ammunition – Course is roughly 800-900 rounds but based on reps for each shooter, could be more. 
Optic Equipped handgun
Holster for optic mounted handgun
Ability to hold at least two magazines on the shooter’s person but more is better
Eye and Ear pro – electronic preferred but not required
Black sharpie
Handheld flashlight as there is a low light portion (Both weapon mounted and handheld lights are preferred but Handheld is a must)
Notebook and pen/pencil
Appropriate Range Attire/Clothing for all weather conditions
Optional Equipment: Handgun Bench Rest for Zero, Lawn Chair

Important!This is an LE Only course of instruction. After completion of registration and payment, please email a copy of your LE Credentials to kraig@valiant-ts.com. In the Subject Line put: PMO Instructor CREDS along with your order confirmation number. Credentials will be verified with each registration.

Day 1 will start at 10:00 AM and will conclude once the low light portion is complete. We will take a dinner break before low light. Bring Snacks
Day 2 will start at 10:00 AM

Registration Policy and Terms:

Due to the unknown nature of scheduling, along with maintaining a minimum student count, a 50% refund will be given if you cancel your registration for any reason prior the event start date. If Valiant Training Solutions cancels the event, a FULL refund will be given. You may transfer your registration to another student but please email kraig@valiant-ts.com with the new registrants name and email and the order number attached. Thank you and see you on the range! REMINDER: Range Fees may be extra and can range from $10 to $25 depending on the range location and host. Be prepared to pay these fees on the first day of class.
